TOP TEN HIGHLIGHTS FROM FASHION WEEK

A week ago I was watching the runways in New York, and now that I have had time to digest all the fabulous fashion moments, here are my top 10 highlights from Fashion Week.

10. Sipping Moet and mingling with the fashion crowd at all the Fashion Week parties.

9. The short black cropped dos at Catherine Malandrino.

8. Freebies! Like Foot Petals which can be found at Lara at Patton Creek, Susan G Matthews in Mountain Brook Village, Marella in Mountain Brook Village and other select Birmingham boutiques.

7. The Bubble with a Band The bubble look is flattering to almost anyone and very comfy and deisgners took it a step further on the runway by adding a band at the bottom.

6. Leggings are still in!

5. Red Not only is red chic, but also important. The Heart Truth show reminds us all to wear red for heart disease awareness.

4. The dainty 20's inspired headbands at Nanette Lepore.

3. Proenza Shouler debuted their Target collection in New York at a special invitation event downtown.

2. Jenni Kayne's youthful, sophisticated designs This young designer is wooing young, hot Hollywood and fashionistas across the nation. Check out Jane Simon in Mountain Brook Village for her latest collection.

1. Badgley Mischka's show! The dresses, the outfits, the gorgeous metallics by the most creative and nicest fashion designers in the world. A piece from their collection is a must for all you fashionistas!

And I have to add although it was fun rubbing elbows with Nicole Richie, Uma Thurman, designers and Devil Wears Prada Editrix herself Anna Wintour, the most fun was meeting savvy, sexy Giada de Laurentiis whose show I adore on the Food Network and is a living doll! Not only does she make food sexy, but she is a little fashionista herself!
